Michigan Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody or release, retrieve or remove an official booking photo, post bond, or pull a public record. Contact the agency or court that holds the item directly.
Where Michigan Records Are Held
The correct office depends on where an arrest happened and where the person was booked. Michigan does not have one public county booking-photo portal. Use the county directory to locate the local resource, then follow its official sheriff, jail, or police contact route. If an online roster does not show the record, ask the agency's records unit how to submit a written FOIA request.
- For a county arrest or booking photo, contact the sheriff, jail authority, or arresting police department that holds the record.
- For a state-prison or supervision profile, search MDOC OTIS; for a record held by MDOC, use its FOIA process.
- For a court case or disposition, search MiCOURT or contact the clerk of the court with the official file.
- For Michigan criminal-history information, use the Michigan State Police criminal-history page, which explains ICHAT's limits.
- For federal custody, use the BOP locator; for immigration custody, use the ICE locator.
A county roster is not a court finding, and a missing online result may reflect timing, privacy rules, or a different custodian. Give the office enough detail to identify the record and ask whether another agency holds it. The official source can explain its request steps, any allowed fees, and the process for correcting an error.
